About us
A test bench that answers to
readers, not brands
Vape Verdict AU started because buying a disposable in Australia was a coin toss: boxes claimed thousands of puffs, nobody checked, and review sites ranked whatever paid. We do the checking. Every product we cover is bought at retail, run through the same measured protocol, and scored in public — including the failures.
The bench, by the numbers
What we stand for
Three commitments that shape every review we publish.
Independence first
We buy units at retail or borrow them from readers. No paid placements, no affiliate influence over scores, and any loaner arrangement is disclosed in the review it appears in.
Numbers you can check
Puff counts measured on a logged rig, flavour scored blind by three panellists, cost-per-day computed the same way for every product. The full method is published, not summarised.
Adults only, harm-aware
This site exists for adult smokers and vapers making purchasing decisions. We do not market to non-smokers, and we do not make health claims in either direction.
Our story
From a spreadsheet to a bench
How a personal puff-counting spreadsheet outgrew the kitchen table.
The spreadsheet
It starts as one vaper tracking claimed versus actual puff counts across a year of disposables, because no review site published the numbers.
The rig
A flow sensor and a microcontroller replace the tally counter. Measured, repeatable draw patterns turn anecdotes into data across dozens of devices.
Blind tasting begins
Two friends join as panellists. Labels get covered, orders get randomised, and the flavour scores stop being one person’s opinion.
Vape Verdict AU
The bench goes public: reviews, buying guides and a live catalog with the products we have actually tested, for adults making their own calls.
How to reach us
Tips, re-test requests and corrections all follow the same door.
Suggest a product
Think something belongs on the bench? Send it in with where you bought it. The re-test queue is partly reader-driven and we publish who asked.
Dispute a score
Manufacturers can contest any measurement. If you can show our rig got it wrong, the review gets corrected with a dated note — never silently.
