59 Flavours, Blind: The Full Panel Verdict

Every flavour from the INGOT 9000, IGET One 12000, Bar Pro 10000 and Dash X 4000 ranges, blind-tasted and scored across the full life of each device. The winners, the disappointments and the patterns.

Flavour sells disposables, and flavour is where disposables disappoint. A liquid that dazzles in the shop’s tester can fade, sour or go medicinal by the two-thirds mark. So we ran the biggest test our bench has attempted: fifty-nine flavours across four series — the Alibarbar INGOT 9000, IGET One 12000, IGET Bar Pro 10000 and Dash X 4000 — sampled blind, three panellists, every flavour vaped across its full device life and scored at each third. This piece is the summary: the winners, the let-downs, and the patterns that generalise.

How the tasting worked

Labels were covered and flavours were randomised so no panellist knew what they were sampling — critical when three of the four ranges share flavour names like Grape Ice and Blackberry Ice. Each flavour was scored at three checkpoints (first third, middle third, final third) for accuracy and consistency, one to five per axis per panellist. The scores below combine all panellists and all checkpoints. Sweetness is described, not scored — you already know whether you like sweet. The full protocol is on our methodology page.

The panel’s champions

1. IGET One Cherry Pomegranate. The highest single score of all fifty-nine. Dark cherry syrup met by pomegranate’s dry, winey tartness — the finish reads almost tannic, which is not a word we expected to use about a disposable. If you buy one flavour on this site, buy this one.

2. Dash X Green Grape. The panel’s favourite grape of the entire test, and the reason we wrote a separate grape showdown. Sweet-tart vine fruit rather than purple candy — sharper and fresher than every other grape on the shelf.

3. Bar Pro Blackberry Pomegranate Cherry. The deepest blend we tasted: blackberry jam, cherry syrup and pomegranate tartness braided together without any of the three disappearing. Most “three-flavour” disposables collapse into generic purple; this one keeps its layers to the last third.

4. INGOT Grape Grapefruit. Candy grape cut with bitter pink-grapefruit peel. The most adult flavour in the INGOT range and the panel’s pick for vapers who find fruit vapes too sweet.

5. Dash X Da Hong Pao. A roasted rock oolong with a mineral edge and zero added sweetness — uncanny, grown-up, and unlike anything else on the Australian shelf. Two panellists scored it top-ten; one put it last. That spread is the most honest thing in this test. Full notes in our tea tasting.

Best in each family

  • Candy lane: INGOT Chupa Chups Strawberry is exactly the lolly it licenses — creamy, round, wrapper-accurate. Skittles rotates fruit notes like the bag does.
  • Iced berry: IGET One Blackberry Ice — fresh-picked bramble rather than jam, with a menthol snap that sharpens it. The Bar Pro take is jammier and rounder; pick your register.
  • Tropical: INGOT Mango Magic for pure nectar sweetness, Dash X Lychee Ice for perfumed, rose-sweet floral — the sweetest of the cold options and a genuine one-draw identifier.
  • Citrus: INGOT Pink Lemon — sherbet-fizz sharpness softened by a berry blush.
  • Mint: INGOT Cool Mint is dry and cold, closer to a menthol cigarette than a mint candy — recent ex-smokers’ favourite. Dash X Miami Mint is the sweeter, beach-club counterpoint at full menthol power.
  • Unusual: Dash X Salt Soda — lightly salted sparkling soda, savoury where everything else is sweet. And Glacier Water: almost no flavour at all, pure chill. Someone on your list vapes only for the cold; this is theirs.

The disappointments

Honesty requires this section, even in a catalogue we sell. Two patterns held the bottom quartile:

Custard-and-cream structure does not survive a disposable. The closest things to dessert here — INGOT Strawnana and the creamy Chupa Chups entries — opened smooth and went flat-past-halfway more than any fruit or tea profile. The panel’s hypothesis, consistent with how the same liquids behave in refillable pods, is that disposable coil temperatures drift upward as the battery sags, and creamy notes are the least tolerant of that drift. If you want creamy-sweet, buy it knowing the back half is weaker than the front.

Sweetness five is a gamble. Every flavour we logged at maximum sweetness — Skittles, the Chupa Chups pair, Lychee Ice, Ribena — polarised the panel at least 3–0 or worse on “would you finish the device.” No mid-sweetness flavour did. Maximum-sweet vapers exist and are loyal; if you are not certain you are one, start at sweetness three or four.

Patterns worth knowing before you buy

Three findings generalised across the fifty-nine:

  1. Ice beats no-ice for consistency. Every “iced” variant outscored its un-iced sibling on holding flavour to the final third, across all four ranges. The cooling agent appears to mask coil drift. If you are choosing between a plain fruit and its iced version and you tolerate menthol at all, take the ice.
  2. The ranges have house styles, not just house names. INGOT tunes candy-first (19 flavours, sweetness averaging above four). IGET One tunes sharp and assertive — more ice, more tartness. Bar Pro tunes rounded — the same flavour names, executed softer, which is why its Strawberry Kiwi Ice is the gentlest take on that duo we tested. Dash X ignores candy for tea, florals and Asian café drinks. Choosing a range is choosing a register.
  3. The first third lies. Nine flavours that opened strongly finished in the bottom quartile — this is why we score at three checkpoints and not one. Never judge a disposable on the first hour.

Where to get them

Everything that scored well is stocked in the catalog with live pricing, organised by flavour family so you can compare ranges head-to-head. If your favourite missed a mention and you think the panel is wrong, write in — the re-test queue is partly reader-driven, and the bench takes requests. New to the category entirely? Start with our first disposable guide; weighing series against series? The four-series field test has the hardware and cost-per-day verdicts.
